Description of Services

The County Clerk & Recorder's Office handles various matters that include: deeds, mortgages, liens, etc., payroll and accounts payable, delinquent taxes, liquor licenses, firework permits, raffle licenses, assumed name applications, elections, marriage license, death certificates and genealogy.

Your license is not official until you are sworn in and the license is signed by the Menard County Clerk.

Fee: $50.00 Cash or Check only
Please call the County Clerk's Office at 217-632-3201 to schedule an appointment to obtain your marriage license.

Election Information 

NEXT ELECTION:  APRIL 2, 2019 CONSOLIDATED ELECTION

EARLY VOTING

Early Voting shall take place in the County Clerk’s Office on Feb. 21 – April 1, 2019 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (normal business days)

GRACE PERIOD VOTING

Grace Period Voting shall take place in the County Clerk’s Office on March 6 – April 2, 2019 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (normal business days)

VOTE BY MAIL

Vote by Mail shall begin on February 21, 2019.

We will also be open on Saturday, March 30, 2019 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon for Early Voting and Grace Period Voting.

All precincts/registered voters in Menard County are covered by the above information.

No. The County Clerk no longer issues hunting and fishing licenses. In Menard County, licenses are available at R&H Farm and Home Store in Petersburg and Village Market in Athens.

Certified copies are $11.00 for the first copy and $8.00 for each additional copy.
